Impressions

Impressions: A Collection of Bespoke Type was a collaborative type exhibit put on by the AU Graphic Design Sophomore cohort. Members split into teams: branding, installation, and production. Impressions showcase 26 distinctive and diverse typefaces designed by the cohort. Working specifically on the installation team, we designed and formulated the space to best present our work to the public. The team managed the production and layout of posters, the set up of the space, the lighting, and the overall experience that was Impressions.

Collaboration

Worked in collaboration with the AU Graphic Design Sophomore cohort to build and design an exhibit to showcase type design.

The process of designing the experience of Impressions deepened my understanding of UX and designing for a location. The installation team was tasked with fitting 26 posters into a room that was frankly not designed for an exhibit.  Due to the awkward space, we had to think outside the box in terms of layout, lighting, and flow of the exhibit.  Co-leading the team strengthened my leadership abilities.  At the end, we had created something we were proud of together!
