Design-ism

The goal of Design-ism is to highlight key elements of art & design movements.
By finding important aspects that define these movements, we can create games that aspire to teach these concepts to our users through gameplay. Members of this team collaborated closely on formulating the function of the game, design of physical pieces, and production. I specifically worked on planning the project timeline, branding, and the production of the cards and boards.  Design-ism is a team game where one player aims to build a composition that visually expresses a prompt using a grid, shapes, and colors while another player attempts to guess it. The Swiss Edition is part of a bigger game system that focuses specifically on the philosophies and design elements of the International design movement.
It prioritizes efficiency in economy, clarity in readability, and objectivity.

Design Solution

Design-ism functions as a playful method to explore and learn the guiding philosophies of the International Design Movement. Highlighting 13 designers, the game practically connects the guiding principles of the movement with the function of game play

The process of creating Design-ism allowed for me to think through education in the form of game play.  It was imperative to ideate, test, and make changes based on the needs of the players. Due to the scale of creating a game from scratch, planning our goals as a team was important and necessary. The process pushed and grew my leadership skills to become more confident and focused.
